A Fog Bow Over California

NASA APOD · Mila Zinkova
COSMIC MESSAGE

A fog bow is similar to a rainbow, but appears white or very faintly colored. It forms when sunlight reflects off tiny water droplets in fog. Unlike the larger drops that create a rainbow, these smaller droplets scatter light differently, producing a less colorful arc.
