Sometimes the sky provides the best show. On January 26, people in Perth, Australia, gathered to watch the sky light up. Nearby, fireworks exploded for Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a distant thunderstorm flashed. Near the image's center, through the clouds, was Comet McNaught, so bright it remained visible despite the other lights.
