Night-Shining Clouds
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Night-shining clouds, also known as noctilucent clouds, are located near the edge of space, about 80 kilometers above Earth. These clouds are more properly called polar mesospheric clouds (PMCs) when viewed from space. The AIM satellite captured this image, showing the cloud structures over the poles. They are forming more frequently at lower latitudes than in the past.
