Comet Holmes, which unexpectedly brightened in October, continues to be visible to the unaided eye from dark locations. It is slowly gliding through the constellation Perseus. This image, captured from Hungary, shows the comet with a huge coma, a cloud of dust and gas surrounding its nucleus.
