COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 3199 is a cosmic cloud in Carina, about 12,000 light-years away. The nebula, roughly 75 light-years across, has a lopsided ring shape with a brighter edge. At its center is a Wolf-Rayet star, a massive, hot, short-lived star whose intense stellar wind shaped the nebula.
