COSMIC MESSAGE
Ghostly noctilucent, or night-shining, clouds hover near dawn in this view over western France. These clouds reflect sunlight from about 80 kilometers above Earth's surface, near the edge of space. Usually seen above the poles in summer, they are now appearing more frequently at lower latitudes, a trend scientists are monitoring.
