On July 5th, the Moon, Saturn, Mars, and the star Regulus aligned in the western sky after sunset. These objects are arrayed along the ecliptic plane, the path the Sun and planets appear to follow. The image, taken from Santa Barbara, California, also shows city lights and a smoky haze, likely from wildfires, in the foreground.
