Near the horizon, the full moon often seems larger due to the Moon illusion. However, its actual size does not change as it rises or sets. This time-lapse image, taken from Cagliari, Sardinia, shows how the Moon's color, like the Sun's, can look red when low on the horizon. This particular full moon was June's Strawberry Supermoon.
