COSMIC MESSAGE

We see NGC 6946 face-on from our vantage point in the Milky Way. This spiral galaxy is about 10 million light-years away in Cepheus. Its colors change from the yellowish light of old stars at the center to young blue star clusters and reddish star-forming regions along its spiral arms.
