Late Night Vallentuna

Bright Mars and even brighter Jupiter were in conjunction above pine trees in Vallentuna, Sweden, on August 12. This post-midnight skyscape also records the glow of aurora borealis beaming from the left. A Perseid meteor, a dust grain from comet Swift-Tuttle, streaks across the upper right during the shower's peak.
