A Halo Around the Moon

COSMIC MESSAGE
A halo around the Moon is a common sight, caused by high, thin clouds containing millions of tiny ice crystals. Each crystal acts like a miniature lens. Because most crystals have a similar elongated hexagonal shape, light entering one face and exiting through the opposing face refracts 22 degrees, creating the halo's radius.
