Inside the Eagle Nebula

NASA APOD · T. A. Rector
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Eagle Nebula, from a distance, looks like an eagle. A closer look reveals a bright region, a window into a larger dark shell of dust. Within this cavity, tall pillars and round globules of dark dust and cold gas remain, where stars are still forming.
