Tycho's Supernova Remnant

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This multi-wavelength image shows Tycho's supernova remnant, the debris from a stellar explosion recorded over 400 years ago by Tycho Brahe. It is a composite of X-ray data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory, infrared from the Spitzer Space Telescope, and optical data from the 3.5-meter Calar Alto telescope. The expanding gas from the explosion is still visible.
