COSMIC MESSAGE
The GLOBE at Night project encourages people worldwide to help track light pollution. Participants are asked to go outside an hour after sunset and observe the constellation Orion in the west. By comparing their view of Orion to provided star charts, they contribute data on sky brightness. This helps scientists monitor the impact of artificial light on night sky visibility.
