The Carina Nebula, NGC 3372, is one of the brightest parts of the Milky Way, home to massive stars and changing nebulae. Eta Carinae, the most energetic star in the nebula, was one of the brightest stars in the sky in the 1830s. The Keyhole Nebula, visible left of center, also houses several massive stars.
