Crater Cabeus, 100 kilometers wide, is located near the Moon's South Pole. It is the target for the LCROSS mission spacecraft, which will impact tomorrow. This mosaic shows a representative view of the region, foreshortened as seen from Earth. The impacts are designed to create debris plumes that could reveal signs of water in the shadowed crater.
