COSMIC MESSAGE

IC 10 is a dwarf galaxy located about 2.3 million light-years away, a member of our Local Group. Despite being obscured by dust and stars from our Milky Way, it shows vigorous star-forming regions. These areas glow with a reddish hue, indicating a large population of newly formed stars. IC 10 is the closest known starburst galaxy.
