NASA APOD · Jack Groves
COSMIC MESSAGE

This region in the constellation Perseus contains the Double Cluster, h and Chi Persei, also known as NGC 869 and NGC 884. Both are open star clusters, about 7,000 light-years away, and are filled with stars much younger and hotter than our Sun. They are separated by only a few hundred light-years and are both about 13 million years old, suggesting they formed together.
