This double-ringed basin on Mercury, 160 kilometers wide, has a smooth floor that puzzles scientists. MESSENGER spacecraft imaged it during its flyby of the innermost planet. While rare, similar multi-ringed basins have been seen on Mars, Venus, Earth, and our Moon. Mercury itself has several, including the large Caloris and Rembrandt basins.
