Annular Eclipse over Patagonia

An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon lines up directly with the Sun but is too far from Earth to completely cover it. This creates a "ring of fire" effect, as seen from Patagonia, Chile. The Moon's shadow is the dark spot in the center of the Sun.
