Cassini Flyby Shows Enceladus Venting

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Enormous ice jets are erupting from Saturn's moon Enceladus. The Cassini spacecraft captured dramatic photographs of giant plumes of ice rising from long 'tiger-stripe' canyons on Enceladus's surface. Several ice jets are even visible in the shadowed region of crescent Enceladus, as they reach high enough to scatter sunlight.
