COSMIC MESSAGE
This composite image shows at least 34 meteors from the annual Geminid shower over Australia. These streaks are caused by dust particles from an extinct comet, Phaethon, burning up in Earth's atmosphere. Though the particles travel parallel, they appear to radiate from a single point near Gemini's twin stars, Castor and Pollux.
