The Milky Way Over Bryce Canyon

NASA APOD · Ben Cooper
COSMIC MESSAGE

Strange rock towers, called hoodoos, rise from Bryce Canyon in Utah. These columns, some over 50 meters tall, are carved by erosion, often protected by a dense cap of rock. On the far left, Thor's Hammer, one of the most famous hoodoos, stands beneath the Milky Way.
