Zodiacal Light Over Namibia

NASA APOD · Rudi Dobesberger (Sternfreunde Steyr)
COSMIC MESSAGE

Zodiacal light, often called a false dawn, is a faint triangle of light visible before sunrise or after sunset. This light comes from sunlight reflecting off interplanetary dust particles scattered throughout our solar system. This horizontally-compressed image, taken from Namibia, clearly shows the zodiacal light on the right. The central band of our Milky Way Galaxy on the left mirrors its glow.
