Mirach's Ghost is a faint galaxy seen almost directly behind the bright star Mirach in Andromeda. Mirach, also known as Beta Andromedae, is a red giant star about 200 light-years away. Its brightness often creates glare that makes the distant galaxy seem like a ghostly presence.
