COSMIC MESSAGE
A group of skywatchers in Iran's Maranjab Desert takes in the predawn sky. Above them, Venus and a crescent Moon hang over the horizon. Tonight, the Geminids meteor shower, caused by Earth sweeping through dusty debris from asteroid-like 3200 Phaethon, peaks. It's often considered the best meteor shower of the year.
