Sutter's Mill Meteorite

Last Sunday, a bright fireball meteor streaked across the skies of California and Nevada, causing sonic booms. Astronomer Peter Jenniskens later recovered fragments of the meteor in a parking lot near Sutter's Mill. This 4-gram meteorite is the second find from this meteor fall. Such events allow scientists to study extraterrestrial material that has fallen to Earth.
