COSMIC MESSAGE

Large spiral galaxy NGC 3628, 30 million light-years away, is part of the Leo Triplet with M65 and M66. A spectacular tidal tail stretches for about 300,000 light-years from NGC 3628's warped, edge-on disk. This feature is the result of gravitational interactions with its galactic neighbors.
