On November 14, 2012, a total solar eclipse passed over Queensland, Australia. This image from Ellis Beach captured the diamond ring effect just before totality. The last direct rays of sunlight streamed past the Moon's edge, creating a brilliant point of light. Storm clouds threatened, but parted just in time for the view.
