ISS and the Summer Milky Way

NASA APOD · Luis Argerich
COSMIC MESSAGE

This summer nightscape near Buenos Aires, Argentina, captures both Earth's clouds and cosmic clouds. Starry clouds and nebulae of the southern hemisphere's summer Milky Way arc above the horizon. Notable features include the dark Coalsack Nebula near the Southern Cross and the pinkish glow of the Carina Nebula. Both the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, satellite galaxies of our Milky Way, are also visible.
