COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 891 is a spiral galaxy about 100,000 light-years across, seen almost exactly edge-on. It sits about 30 million light-years away in Andromeda, and looks a lot like our Milky Way. It has a flat, thin disk and a central bulge, cut along the middle by dark dust. The image also shows young blue star clusters and pinkish star-forming regions.
