COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 6164 is an emission nebula created by a rare, hot, O-type star, 40 times the Sun's mass. The star, only 3 to 4 million years old, sits at the nebula's center. Spanning about 4 light-years, the nebula exhibits a bipolar symmetry, similar to planetary nebulae formed by dying stars.
