COSMIC MESSAGE
From the Chilean coast, a lunar eclipse was in progress during predawn hours, with the Moon sinking toward the western horizon. The curved edge of Earth's shadow cut across the lunar disk. From this southern hemisphere location, totality began as the Moon was immersed in Earth's shadow.
