A Sagittarius Triplet

NASA APOD · Christian vd Berge (DSLR Astrophotograhy)
COSMIC MESSAGE

These three bright nebulae are popular stops on telescopic tours of Sagittarius and the crowded starfields of the central Milky Way. M8, the large nebula to the left, and M20, the colorful nebula on the right, were both cataloged by Charles Messier. NGC 6559 sits above M8, separated by a dark dust lane, and all three are stellar nurseries about five thousand light-years away.
