Sprites from Space

From the International Space Station, an old Moon and the stars of Orion rise above Earth. City lights and lightning flashes from southern Mexico illuminate the scene. A greenish airglow traces the atmosphere, above which a rare sprite briefly appears. Sprites are large electrical discharges that occur high above thunderstorms.
