COSMIC MESSAGE
Messier 17, also known as the Omega Nebula, is a star-forming region in Sagittarius. Stellar winds and radiation from hot, massive stars have sculpted its gas and dust clouds. This region is about 5,500 light-years away and spans over 30 light-years across. It is an active site where new stars are still forming.
