The R136 star cluster, located in the heart of the 30 Doradus region, or Tarantula Nebula, contains some of the largest and hottest stars known. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this visible light image in 2009. Powerful winds and ultraviolet radiation from these massive stars sculpt the surrounding gas and dust clouds into elongated shapes.
