The Great Carina Nebula, NGC 3372, is one of our galaxy's largest star-forming regions, spanning over 300 light-years. Located 7,500 light-years away, it is visible to the unaided eye in the southern sky. This telescopic view shows the region's central glowing filaments of interstellar gas and obscuring cosmic dust clouds.
