The sky on
your birthday.
“The Altiplano Night” is copyrighted by Babak Tafreshi. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteThis panorama captures the bright Milky Way reflecting in a river on the high plains of the Chilean Andes. At 4,500 meters, the skies are naturally dark and clear. The band of Zodiacal light also stands out, extending above the Milky Way. Brilliant Mars, Saturn, and Antares are visible in the scene.
