The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral's Complex 41 on Thursday evening. This low, wide-angle view captures its Atlas V vehicle, sporting a single solid rocket booster, blasting off toward the setting sun. OSIRIS-REx is on a mission to asteroid Bennu, scheduled for encounter in 2018. It will first perform a gravity assist maneuver by Earth to boost its trajectory.
