“M27: The Dumbbell Nebula” is copyrighted by John Hayes. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteM27, the Dumbbell Nebula, is a planetary nebula, the type of nebula our Sun will produce when nuclear fusion stops in its core. It was the 27th object on Charles Messier's list of diffuse objects, discovered in 1764. M27 is one of the brightest planetary nebulae and can be seen toward Vulpecula with binoculars.
