The Lobster Nebula, NGC 6357, is a region of intense star formation, housing some of the most massive stars known. Located in the constellation Scorpius, it contains the open star cluster Pismis 24, home to incredibly bright, blue stars. The nebula's overall red glow comes from the emission of ionized hydrogen gas.
