COSMIC MESSAGE
The Rosette Nebula, cataloged as NGC 2237, is a flower-shaped emission nebula. At its heart lies the open star cluster NGC 2244, a group of young, bright stars formed about four million years ago. The powerful stellar winds from these stars are clearing a hole in the nebula's center, while their ultraviolet light causes the surrounding gas to glow.
