COSMIC MESSAGE
The Heart Nebula, also known as IC 1805, glows brightly in the red light of excited hydrogen gas. This emission nebula gets its distinctive shape and glow from a small cluster of young, hot stars at its center, called Melotte 15. These stars erode away the surrounding dust and gas, creating the intricate structures seen within the nebula.
