Cassini's Final Image

On September 15, the Cassini spacecraft ended its 13-year mission by impacting Saturn's upper atmosphere. For its "Grand Finale," Cassini performed 22 dives between Saturn and its rings. The spacecraft's thrusters fired until the very end, sending a final signal that took 83 minutes to reach Earth. Loss of contact was recorded at the Deep Space Network antenna complex in Canberra, Australia.
