Unexpected X-Rays from Perseus Galaxy Cluster
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Perseus galaxy cluster emits an unexpected glow in a specific color of X-rays. This 3.5 Kilo-electronvolt (KeV) X-ray color appears excessively bright in regions outside the cluster's center, while the area around the central supermassive black hole is deficient in it. One debated hypothesis suggests these X-rays could be a clue to the identity of dark matter.
