Comet PanSTARRS (C/2016 R2) is a blue comet visible near the edge of this wide-field view. The image, captured with a sensitive digital camera, reveals faint colorful clouds and dark nebulae. The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is also visible at the top right, about 1,000 light-years away.
