Perseverance: Seven Minutes to Mars

Landing safely on Mars is difficult, with more attempts failing than succeeding. The Martian atmosphere is too thick to ignore, but too thin for parachutes alone. The Perseverance lander will use a heat shield, a large parachute, and rocket maneuvers to slow down. Then, a sky crane will lower the rover to the surface.
