Apollo 12 was the second mission to land humans on the Moon. Its landing site was chosen near Surveyor 3, a robotic spacecraft that had landed three years prior. In this photograph, lunar module pilot Alan Bean captured commander Pete Conrad examining the Surveyor. The lunar module is visible in the distance.
