The constellation Orion is a direction in space rich with impressive nebulae. This new long-exposure image, taken over several clear nights, reveals the region in the light of hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. The featured collage spans over 40 times the angular diameter of the Moon. It took 23 hours of camera time to capture this well-known swath of sky.
